(Written at an internet café in Plymouth, England)
Just before leaving Killarney I realized I never picked up a stone there, and stopped beside the road to get one. The place I stopped at turned out to be the town hall and I had parked right in front of the room they use for weddings. (I discovered this because I went in to use the bathroom). So I prayed for the bride of Christ in Ireland there. Before picked up a stone I also repented of all the youthful but sinful things I did in Killarney during my previous visit there in 1997, and I asked the town to forgive me for having had part in all the stuff that is hurting it so much. (Killarney is a tourism centre in Ireland, and people from all over the world come there to behave themselves badly).
I drove a bit further, and then I parked again at a petrol station to look for something that had fallen in behind my chair. There was what looked like a blind old crow on the wall beside where I parked. It looked at me sidelong, and I felt uneasy, so I delivered it in Jesus name of any demonic things that may have attached themselves to it. When I started telling it the gospel it looked me straight in the eye suddenly, rearranged its feathers and flew off. I wasn’t sure if the job was finished, but twice later during the day I saw huge swarms of crows milling in the air over the road I was on, so I just kept on asking for protection and covering. (If you wonder what this is all about – the ones working for the dark-one in SA has been known to use animals like crows and rats to do their spy-work for them).
For the rest I had a good day driving over the breadth of Ireland. But, much of my conversation with the Lord took on the kind of bickering tone that one tends to find between team mates that have been on the road too long. We had a disagreement about money… what ells? Not that He was bickering! It was me who picked to fight, and fought it all by myself…
All He said was that He wanted me to “be anxious for nothing”. I agreed that this would be good. Almost immediately the tests started with various little financial details of the days ahead coming to mind and causing me to start worrying. It took many hours of the drive to work through all the confessions and repentance I needed to do in order to come to a place where I had peace again.
I got to the ferry port in good time and I could take a bit of time in Rosslare to repack my things and sort myself out. It wasn’t too hard to stay awake on the 4 hour ferry trip. I tried to consolidate my thoughts in terms of things I felt I needed to think of doing. I wrote some to-do lists. But I had the feeling my mind is somehow clouded, almost as if I’m a bit drunk. Please pray for me for the Mind of Christ!

11/8 Day 21: Ireland – To the East
(Written at the Killarney internet café in between 11am 11/8)
Had a good night’s rest at the B&B. Now I’ll be driving right across Ireland to Rosslare where I will get the ferry to Wales tonight. Elaine, a friend of a friend, is ready to receive me there tomorrow. Then off to Corwall. I hope to be able to blog again in Plymouth on Wednesday, before I take the ferry to France in the night.

10/8 Day 20: Ireland – Into the West
(Written at the Killarney internet café in between 10am 11/8)
It took me all morning to make my way from Knock to Dingle, the westernmost peninsula of Ireland. It was a beautiful drive through flower covered hills with far vistas of a patchwork of walled in grass fields where sheep grazing here and there.
When I got to the outermost edge the 2000 tourists I saw in the North were there before me. But I did not allow this to stop me this time. I parked and climbed over the last hill to the farthest side. There had been some violence done to the earth here when God formed it all and sedimentary layers of stone had been turned on their side, causing jagged pieces of rock to stick out everywhere. There was nothing flat to sit on for miles, and I was wondering where He was planning for me to wait for him when a saw a flat stone perched in an isolated place very close to the edge.
I sat down and waited. With all the wild frozen violence around me I became intensely aware of God’s strength and wildness. There is nothing predictable about Him or how He does things. Even though we can know He will always be good and righteous the road we walk with Him does not conform to our idea of regular.
He started speaking about the banner Trudy saw, and His banner of Love over His church. There is a whole misunderstanding it seems about the equation between love and comfort/safety. Jesus had to be able to say to the Father ‘I will love you even though you slay me’. And really becoming one with Him involves becoming one with Him in the suffering of the cross.
As I sat there looking at the way the waves were battering the rocks I started understanding another implication of this prayer I am praying for the revelation of the Sons of God: creation is crying out and the Creator is getting ready to answer its prayer. If we are the Sons of God, are we ready to be revealed? Whatever that implies… Are we really ready to take up our cross and follow Him?
He spent much time talking to me about being a Son of God and the way the enemy works against the revelation of this fact in the minds and hearts of God’s children.
As I was sitting at the edge the rain was moving like a curtain around the tip where I was sitting but it never fell on me. Only when I was back in the car did it suddenly pour down. I turned my back to the afternoon sun and drove east towards Killarney. About halfway back along the Dingle Peninsula the sun came out behind me and made a complete double rainbow over the way I was going. The wild God was telling me He loves me wildly.
I had been in Killarney in 1997 on a short tour and I was hoping to find a space in the youth hostel. But the rest of the 2000’s family was here, so I was forced back into a B&B. This is not such a bad arrangement because even though it might cost a bit more I have been surviving on the high-protein breakfasts they give me and one muesli meal a day since I came to Scotland.

9/8 Day 19: North-Ireland to Knock
(Written at bright and clean internet café in Killarney between 9-11pm 10/8)
I really rested well and after breakfast I felt to explain to my hostess what I am doing. She is a good Catholic but as it turns out she has a living relationship with Jesus and I felt that was good enough. When I finished telling her what I’m doing she was very touched and thankful that I had slept in her house and she hasted to find a nice little stone for me. She asked that I would send her a card from Jerusalem when I get there to let her know if I made it. On leaving I thanked the dog. I really felt that this little creature had some angelic qualities.
I went to a place by the waterside where the beaches of Northern Ireland and Ireland on both sides of the bay that goes to Londonderry almost touch. There I found a little cove and read revelations to both of them at once. It was one of the easier readings even though it sometimes rained a bit. I really felt safer on the Republic of Ireland side and I felt like the patients of the day before had been left behind. My sense is that the Island considers itself as one, and that the political division is somehow causing discomfort in the land. Disunity makes it hard for peace and blessing to reside.
Halfway through the morning I got an SMS from my brother who got Ps 19 for me. He felt that God would use the foolish things to make wise the simple. I thought of how He used the dog the night before, and I asked the Lord to give me the courage to share where I need to share in what ever way he wants it.
After the reading I went to Malin Head, the most northern point of the island. There I found the weather cloudy and sometimes rainy. I found a place at the edge of the cliff and waited for the Lord. When He came He came with a horse. A big white one. (I only remembered later that Trudy had seen a horse). He also touched my feet, and much of the conversation was about becoming one with Him in His suffering. I was wishing for a rerun on the north of Scotland, but this was a very solemn affair – intimate as it was.
From there I drove towards Galway. I decided not to leave looking for a place to sleep till too late so I Started looking at about 7pm. By then I was close to a town called Knock. I checked in at a B&B called Eden a few kilometres before the actual town, and tried to follow the little proprietor’s directions to a place where she thought I might find Internet access.
On the way into town I passed another B&B called Grace& Mercy B&B with a big typically Catholic looking picture of Jesus on the side of the house as high as the roof. I drove past with a pang of doubt if I had missed God in my B&B choice. I stopped the car to discuss the matter with Him. He said I didn’t and that I could visit the lady in this house if I wanted to.
I knocked on the door and a lady opened. It didn’t take her half a minute of hearing my story, before she invited me into her sitting-room where five people were gathered for a prayer meeting. It didn’t take me half a minute to discover that Mother Mary was very present and that the type of charismatic Catholicism practiced was a mixed grill of every good and bad thing in the church today. But Jesus was there too. They were very excited about the way it all worked out and very happy to pray for me and bless me.
Love ruled, and I went back to the B&B a bit confused but convinced that these were the people God is working with in this place.

8/8 Day 18: Scotland – Northern Ireland
(Written at bright and clean internet café in Killarney between 9-11pm 10/8)
After only 3 hours of sleep I staggered out of bed at 6:30 to shower and pack and rush for the ferry harbour. Before I left Yolanda and Mariette found me a stone from their garden and blessed me again very profoundly. They also explained the road to Troon where the ferry left from.
So in morning rush-hour I made my way through a maze of Scottish country lanes and little traffic circles. I got lost only 3 times and the Spirit kept me calm and against all odds I made it in time for the ferry and could relax.
During the 140 minute ferry trip the Lord started speaking to me about Ireland. In the spirit I saw a very sick and wounded young man. At first I thought it was Jesus himself, but then I realised that it was the state of the sons of God in Ireland. The young man was so sick he could not respond – as if in a stupor.
On arrival in Larne, just north of Belfast in Northern Ireland, I found a place on the rocky beach to blow the Shofar, make the proclamations and tell Ireland the gospel. When I asked if I could take the stones I perceived Ireland to give two responses too (like Iceland). At first I became aware of Ireland as an almost pathologically despondent woman with severe post-traumatic symptoms. I felt as if she had been abused so severely she did not have a mind or a vocabulary to respond to my question. I wondered if she did not understand me, and asked the Lord for translators. He said she did understand, and then I felt the other, deeper response of peaceful almost happy acceptance and welcome for me and the gospel I am bringing.
When I got into the car to drive north from there I had the feeling that I had the sick young man and the despondent woman with me in the spirit as I drove. I slowly started understanding that the conflict and all the bloodshed in Northern Ireland was between the Catholics and the Protestants there. These are supposed to be the Sons of God and they have fed the Earth a diet of hate, dissention, betrayal, and idolatry. When I asked her if she wanted the sons of God to be revealed she was not so sure this would be a good thing.
My first destination was the northern-most tip of Northern Ireland (UK) which is close to Coleraine. There is a very famous tourist attraction here called Giant’s Causeway that has special stone formations. I intended to go there to pray, but so did 2000 other tourists right at that minute, so I re-evaluated and went into a farmer’s land which reaches to the actual northern point.
I spent about an hour in this little paddy at the edge of the world waiting for the Lord. I still had the two patients with me in the spirit and I felt like I had to just wait there for a while sitting on a stone. I finally had an understanding that the actual island of Ireland (which is one) was the entity that accepted the gospel happily and was free with its stones. The two patients were spiritual entities/pictures relating to the people and the nation of Northern Ireland.
On continuing from there I was very tired, and I had to drive westward towards the actual northern most point of the whole island. My plan was to sleep on the Northern Ireland side of the border between the Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland at a town called Culmore, close to Londonderry. From the paddy I had about 2 hours to drive and it was already after 5pm.
The sun was setting in my eyes and I had a hard time keeping them open. At one point I rubbed them and there must have been something really bad on my finger because I had a severe allergic attack in my right eye. I had to stop, wash my eye and put in some eye drops. Examination in the mirror revealed that a blister-like swelling had formed under the ‘skin’ of the white of my eye right around the iris. It burned like crazy. Just about then I got an sms from Trudy: saying that she sees me in peace like after a victory riding into a town on a gold decorated white horse with a white & gold banner. And Ps 112.
With my stinging painful eye I spent about an hour driving around Culmore, Londonderry and the surrounding countryside looking for accommodation for the night. There was some big event in town and EVERYTHING in Northern Ireland was full.
I was so tired and sorry for myself and really crying out to the Lord. I finally crossed the non-event border to Ireland proper. The 4th B&B that turned me away told me about 2 others right around the corner from her. As I drove up to them I begged the Lord that if there was a child of Him in one of these that they would open for me.
I drove up to the first one and was greeted by a friendly three-legged mongrel that looks like a cross between a middle-size poodle and a collie. The dog had the most understanding eyes and I really felt it cared about my destitute condition. I knocked in the door but there was no answer, although it was clear that someone must be at home – and in the bath I concluded.
I walked to the B&B next door, but she was full too, so I came back to the first one and cried heartily on the dog’s shoulder. I was just explaining to the dog that the Lord has never failed me yet, when the mistress came around the corner. She had seen me through the window after taking a bath. Every motherly response came to the fore when she found me crying, and she agreed that I could sleep in her son’s room.
She nurtured me back into shape and sent me to bed early and grateful.
