One of the areas I often struggle with the most in getting it right is the timing of doing the things I feel God tells me to do. In November 2006 I felt lead to start a cycle of 40x40 days of focus and since then I have been living in 40 day seasons. Sometimes they involve a fast of some sort, but usually they are periods of prayer with specific focus and actions included. I spent the first 40 days walking around our farm every day praying the psalms over it, and many of you joined me for parts of that. The next one I spent Walking around our neighbourhood in town, also praying the psalms. Then I climbed the mountain where our government buildings are and read all 40 of the chapters in Exodus to them. The next one was spent in preparation for the climb of the Mountain in Ethiopia, and the actual going there and climbing it. So when I have to decide on dates for things like this Highway, I consider my time in terms of these 40s. That is how I knew this Highway should start on 22 July – after I prayed about it of course. The reason I left SA 11 days before the start date, was that there are very limited flights to Qaanaaq, and the only way I could get there on time for the 22nd was to go that much earlier. |
